A scientific-practical conference dedicated to medical and social problems of arterial hypertension was held in Odessa on may 30, 2018. An event of this scale is one of the most important for the development of cardiac medicine.
The conference was organized on the initiative:
- National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine,
- Ministry of Health of Ukraine,
- GU «NSC» «Institute of Cardiology. N.D. Strazhesko» NAMS of Ukraine (Kyiv),
- All-Ukrainian Antihypertensive Association,
- All-Ukrainian Association of Preventive Cardiology and Rehabilitation,
- Association of Researchers of Ukraine,
and with the support of the International Society of Vascular Health and Aging.
The technical organization of the conference was carried out by Conform Service.
During the scientific-practical conference, reports, sectional meetings, lectures by well-known specialists, as well as discussions were held.
The event considered issues:
- arterial hypertension: definition, classification, general algorithm of treatment;
- how to improve the effectiveness of pharmacotherapy of hypertension;
- problematic issues in the treatment of arterial hypertension and updated recommendations for the treatment of arterial hypertension.
The guests of honor and speakers at the conference were the President of the Working Group on Blood Pressure of the European Society of Hypertension, professor of cardiology R. Asmar; interventional cardiologist, professor N. Tasich (Belgrade, Serbia); Secretary General of the International Society of Vascular Health and Angina Pectoris, professor G. Topuchan; Head of the Board of the Belarusian League in the fight against high blood pressure, candidate of medical sciences I.V. Lazareva.
In total, the three-day event was attended by more than 400 medical professionals, representatives of pharmaceutical companies and associations.
